There are a variety of reasons why radar imagery may not currently be visible for your location.
The radar layer is not turned on
First things first, please check that the Rain Radar item is selected in the Radar Tab's Layer Settings.
There is poor internet connectivity
Radar imagery cannot be retrieved if there is no/poor internet connectivity - either via mobile reception or Wi-Fi. If this happens, you may see an error message like the one below. Please try again later once your internet connectivity is restored.
Radar data is not available at the source
We source radar data and imagery from the local government weather bureaus. For Australia, this is the Bureau of Meteorology (BOM). At times radar data may not be available if the physical radar instrumentation or the data processing has failed at a particular site. You may see an error message like the one below. The time to rectify this can vary depending on the root cause of the issue. We suggest trying again after 30-60 minutes.
Lack of radar coverage
As mentioned above, we source radar data and imagery from the local government weather bureaus. However some locations (particularly those with low population densities) may not lie within the reach/coverage of physical radar instrumentation, thereby creating blind spots in the radar image. There is currently no workaround for this limitation, however over time the local bureaus may invest in the installation of new radar sites to cover high priority blind spots.
