There are a few features in the Weatherzone app where a location is used to display the corresponding weather. If the feature is not set to "follow my location" then it will display the weather for a static location that may not match where you are currently located. To edit the location for each feature, please refer to the guide below.
App Location
The app's location can be set by tapping the location in the top-left corner under the Weatherzone logo. In the screen below, this is Sydney.
You will then see a location search pop-up allowing you to select either "Follow My Location" or you can manually type in a location.
In order to use "Follow My Location", you must give the Weatherzone app permission to use your device's location. If you turned this off during the onboarding flow, you can update the permission settings using these guides:
- iOS - https://support.apple.com/en-au/HT203033
- Android - https://support.google.com/accounts/answer/6179507
Please note that turning on Precise Location will improve the accuracy of the location selection as you travel.
Widget Location
Widgets work independently from the main app and therefore have their own location controls.
For iOS - Long press on the widget and select Edit Widget. You will see a pop-up that allows you to select either "Follow My Location" or you can manually choose a static location.
For Android - Tap the Settings icon on the widget. You will see a pop-up that allows you to select either "Use My Location" or you can manually choose a static location. Tap Save to confirm any changes.
Notifications Location
Notifications also work independently from the main app and therefore have their own location controls. To change this location, tap the Menu icon in the tab bar and select Notifications. Tap on the location next to Select Location, where you can either select your Current Location or manually select a static location.
Apple Watch Location
Apple Watch widgets also work independently from the main app and therefore have their own location controls. To change this location, tap the Menu icon in the tab bar and select Settings. Scroll down to Watch Location where you can either select your Current Location or manually select a static location.
