Hourly Forecast
Hour-by-hour breakdown with temp, rain chance & wind
Daily Forecast
Day-by-day overview with highs, lows, conditions & wind
✨ Key feature: Both widgets are fully resizable. After placing them, long-press and drag the edges to make them as large or compact as you want. One widget — any size!
How to Add the New Widget (30 seconds)
- Long-press on an empty area of your home screen.
- Tap Widgets.
- Search or scroll to find Weatherzone.
- Choose Daily Forecast or Hourly Forecast.
- Long-press your chosen widget and drag it onto your home screen.
- Resize by long-pressing the placed widget and dragging its edges.
💡 Tip: The exact wording may vary slightly by device (Samsung, Pixel, etc.), but the process is the same across all Android phones.
How to Resize Your Widget
Once the widget is on your home screen, you can make it larger or smaller in seconds:
- Long-press the widget on your home screen until it lifts or a menu appears.
- Release your finger — you should see resize handles (small circles or lines) appear around the widget's edges.
- Drag any handle inward to shrink or outward to expand the widget.
- Tap anywhere outside the widget to confirm the new size.
Drag the ● handles to resize in any direction
💡 Tip: On some devices (e.g. Samsung One UI), you may need to tap "Resize" from the popup menu instead of seeing handles automatically.
📐 Note: The widget content adapts automatically to the size you choose. A larger widget shows more forecast days or hours at a glance, while a smaller one keeps things compact.
Daily Forecast Widget — Available Sizes
The Daily Forecast widget supports several sizes. Here's what you resize them to:
Daily Houry Widget — Available Sizes
The Daily Hourly widget supports several sizes. Here's what you resize them to:
📏 Remember: You don't need to pick a fixed size upfront. Place the widget at any size, then drag the handles to adjust. The widget automatically adapts its layout to show as much information as the space allows.
What about Classic Large and Radar?
Weatherzone Classic Large (5 × 2) and Weatherzone Radar (2 × 2) are still available and unchanged. If you were using one of these and it disappeared, try removing and re-adding it using the steps above.
Other Questions Regarding Widget Updates
Why did my widget disappear?
Android automatically removes home screen widgets when the underlying widget type is retired from an app. Your old widget type was replaced in v7.6.0 with the new resizable versions.
Will I lose my old widget settings?
Yes — previous settings don't carry over. The new widgets have their own configuration, which takes just a moment to set up and offers more options than before.
Can I customise the new widget?
Yes! You can resize it freely, configure what weather details are shown, and choose a background theme. Tap the widget after placing it to access settings.
How do I get a smaller widget size?
To get a smaller size widget, pick the "Daily Forecast". Size available are 2x1 and 2x2
Where can I give feedback?
